How To Sell Your Art On Pinterest - Simple Guide
How I Went From 10 Views a Month to 70,000 on Pinterest - And How You Can Do The Same
This year I realized I wasn't using Instagram as often as before and decided to give Pinterest a chance instead. It has proven to be an amazing change! In just a few months I've gone from getting 10 views a month to a whopping 70,000. It's really made a difference to the sales of my posters - I now sell them in both the US and Europe through my own webshop and also drive traffic to my Etsy -account.

The best thing is that I spend minimal time on it instead of 1 hour to make a reel on Instagram.
The best tip to remember is:
- Anyone can pin regardless of what you sell
- One product can be made into 10 different pins with different graphics and texts
- A pin lasts for about 4 months but can deliver year after year with the right seo
- A post on Instagram lasts 24 hours
Want to know how I did it and how you can do the same?
Read on!
1. Get a Pinterest Business account
To really get the most out of Pinterest, you need a Pinterest Business account. It gives you access to lots of useful tools, such as statistics and advertising, which can help you reach more customers. Note, it takes a month or so before you become a verified seller, so start now.
Write descriptive text in your profile with strong keywords about what you offer.
2. Prepare Your Images
Pinterest is very much about images, so it's important that yours look good. I used tools like Canva and Illustrator, I love working in illustrator, to create high quality images of my posters. But you said to work in the program that you handle best. It works best with portrait images in the 2:3 format, such as 1000 x 1500 pixels. Make sure your photos really showcase the best of your work.
3. Create Your Pins
Once you have your images ready, log into your Pinterest Business account and do the following:
- Click the plus (+) button in the upper right corner and select “Create a Pin”.
- Upload your image.
- Write a title that is both informative and enticing. It helps your pin stand out from all the others.
- Write a description with relevant keywords so that people find your pin more easily. Describe what your art or poster is about and why it is special.
4. Add A Link
In order for your pin to lead to sales, you must add a link:
- Find the field for “Destination website” or similar.
- Paste the URL of your product on your webshop or Etsy shop. Test the link to make sure it works before publishing the pin.
5. Publish and Track Your Pin
- Choose an appropriate board on your Pinterest page for your pin. If you don't have a board that fits, create a new one with a name that matches your art category.
- Once you've published your pin, track how it's performing with Pinterest Analytics. If a pin is getting a lot of attention, consider using Pinterest ads to reach even more people.
- When you create a business account, you receive a certain amount of credit to be able to advertise. So good!
6. Promote Your Pin
To get even more people to see your pin, you can:
- Share it on other social media.
- Embed it on your blog or website.
- Use it in your emails to drive traffic to your webshop or Etsy shop.
